A Matter of Hope

A Matter of Hope: A FUNdraiser for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation

It’s time to dust your dancing shoes off, grab a cornhole bag, and toast to a great cause! We’re hosting THE FUNdraising event of the summer!

This is the 1st annual “A Matter of Hope” celebration in honor of my husband Matt Sgambato, a 35-year old warrior who battled a rare cancer known as Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer) for almost an entire year until the disease took him from us on December 24, 2019. He still is, in one word, A FORCE. Matt’s tribe, comprised of his closest family and and friends, are committed to continue his fight in partnership with the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation by funding research and clinical trials with the hope of ultimately beating CCA. Though Matt can’t physically fight this awful disease any more, his spirit drives us all to battle just as hard as he did in whatever way we can.

In true Matt-fashion, we’re hosting a summer party to remember at one of his favorite spots, Union Craft Brewing. With live music, a cornhole tournament, silent auction, kids zone, and more!

Ticket Information

General Admission: You name your ticket price. 100% of your ticket donation will go to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. We do have a limited number of tickets available due to capacity, so you must have a ticket in order to enter the event.

Music All Day

It wouldn’t be the party of the summer without awesome beats! We’re excited to announce that the Time Police and Soundtown Baltimore will take to the stage on August 15th. From Fed Hill to Fells to Canton, and beyond, these guys have been entertaining Charm City for years. We are PUMPED to have them play at our event and, I know, Matt would be so honored to have them there.

Silent Auction Sponsors

If you, or a business you know, is interested in supporting the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and Matt’s memory through this event, please email Christina at mohopebaltimore@gmail.com. There are multiple ways to support this great cause, including service and prize donations for our silent auction. All proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.

Other Ways to Help Us Fundraise

Can’t make it to the event? Rather donate cash than a prize? Here are a couple ways you can make a difference:

  1. Donate and/or come up and support one of our runners hitting the course in honor of Matt and in support of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation! Matt’s sister, Lia will be taking on the Chicago Marathon in October. Katherine will be racing in the New York City Marathon on November 1st and Nick will be racing in the New Jersey Marathon on April 26th! They can both use your support to reach their goals and cheer them on at the finish line!
  2. You can donate directly through the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation website . Make sure to include that this in support of A Matter of Hope so we can track our impact!

Stay tuned for event announcements!
