Twenty Week Update: Anatomy Scan, Gender Reveal, and Life Update
Helllooo second half of pregnancy!I’m currently in my twenty-first week of pregnancy and excited to share this twenty week update! A lot of life changes have happened since I last blogged, both preggo and non-preggo related, so I’ll give you a quick recap below. It’s has been a roller coaster of emotions and, working through all the highs and lows while pregnant has been…a challenge. It has never been more apparent to me how important it is to surround yourself with people that lift you up and provide unwavering love and support. So, let’s just get into it. WE MOVED! Remember my changing of the seasons blog? Welp, in true…

18 Week Pregnancy Update: My Pregnancy Journey
Hi friends! I can’t believe I’m already sharing my 18 week pregnancy update. Pistachio is the size of a sweet potato, croissant, nintendo controller, or Sugar Glider (see below). Now that I’m getting deeper into my second trimester, I can confidently say that most of my former and current preggo friends were right: It does. get. better. As I strut into this nineteenth week of pregnancy, I can safely say that my nausea has subsided and with that, friends, the hunger is real. Which is kind of strange because, simultaneously, I feel super full. Is that normal? The plus side, I can actually consume vegetables and healthier foods again,…

Building a Healthy Workday: The 9-5 Edition
Eat better. Move more. Stress less. Sleep more. We get the picture. Optimal health, when you get to the crux of it, is pretty simple…in an ideal world. However, sometimes, our real world and our ideal world collide. Particularly within the workplace. Modern technology is great. It has expanded our ability to communicate at record speed, efficiently solve problems, and advance at record rates. However, it has also fostered sedentary lifestyles, raised response-time expectations, and contributed to an overall decline in workforce health. So how do we create a healthy workday? I remember my first job after college.. It was a 9-5 position as a sales assistant in…

My Pregnancy Journey: Week 16 Pregnancy Update & Body Image Anxiety
Today marks 16 weeks pregnant and the beginning of my 17th week. CRAZY! I decided to couple the first few weeks of my second trimester into one pregnancy update, because I think weekly updates may be a bit…much. Maybe it’s because of the arbitrary first four weeks when I didn’t even know I was pregnant, but it feels like time is flying by so fast. Wrapped in with trying to sell our house, putting the finishing touches on my coaching business (stay tuned for some exciting announcements), studying, and my full-time job, it has been non-stop action in these parts. Currently, Pistachio is the size of an Avocado, or a…

My Pregnancy Blog: A Healthy Attempt at the First Trimester
If you read my previous First Trimester blog, then I don’t need to tell you again about how “not-so-pleasant” I felt during the first trimester of this first pregnancy. If you haven’t read any of the other blogs in this series, DO IT because I’m not going to re-hash it. That being said, as an Integrative Health Coach and well, a person that just likes to feel as though I’m nurturing my body, I tried to stay mindful of my feet, fork, and fingers. In other words, I still tried to eat as healthy as possible and move as much as I was physically able to. The latter was a heck…

My Pregnancy Journey: First Trimester Recap
After Matt and I slowly snapped out of the shock of our BFP, the realities of the first trimester started to set in. By the time we found out, I was about 4 weeks pregnant…which, BTW, they calculate from the first day of your last period, not from the date of actual conception. For the first week or so after finding out, I felt pretty good. I started getting more tired in the evening and my stomach felt a little bloated, but nothing dramatic. My parents and their friends came down to visit us the weekend after we found out and we spent the whole weekend entertaining, walking around the…

My Pregnancy Journey: Trying To Conceive our First Baby
It’s a funny thing. For so long, we take every measure humanly possible to prevent getting pregnant. The thought of getting pregnant was so far off my radar, and even terrifying, for so long. When Matt and I first started dating, we were unsure if we wanted kids. We were content living that DINK (dual-income, no-kids) lifestyle and didn’t give the idea of “children” a second thought. As our relationship progressed, our mindset changed. We went from “No kids. No way.” to “We’re open to the idea, but that’s not on our radar now.” to “Probably, someday.” and eventually…” we want kids.” Both of our attitudes toward the thought of…

My Official Pregnancy Announcement: My Pregnancy Journey
The BIG Announcement: If you picked up any hints in my last blog post, Changing of the Seasons, discussing embracing the changes we experience in our lives, you may have come to the conclusion that a few things are happening over here that are a tad out of the norm. That being said, it’s with great joy and excitement I let you, my blog family, know…I’M PREGNANT! Above you’ll see our official pregnancy announcement. Snaps for Charlie the dog for being a super trooper. After trying for about six months, Matt and I found out on May 1st that our first baby, sans fur, is on his or her way!…

Changing of the Seasons: Dealing with Change
Happy summer friends! It’s been a hot minute (or few months?!) since my last blog, but I’m baaack with some fresh new content, new topics, and, of course, a few surprises. When I started blogging, I committed to you, and to myself, that this blog would remain authentic, raw, real, and beneficial for my readers. I won’t blog just to blog and I won’t blog if it doesn’t feel like my content is coming from a place of authenticity. Safe to say, I’m feeling inspired. Recently, I had a really great chat with one of the ladies in my group coaching session (Health Coach over here, in case you missed…

Oh Hey 2018, So Nice to See You
I promise, I’m not trying to make this blog a once-a-month thing, it’s just, ya know, life. Similar to my post-Thanksgiving blog, I took some much needed time away from social media, blogging, and other digital thangs to focus on time with my family. While I wish I could have entertained you all amidst a crazy month, I unfortunately just couldn’t do it. So without being super repetitive…I’m back. And just like that, it’s 2018 and I’m 32 (NYE baby over here). 2017 was quite the year. I lost my job, I started a new one. I travelled to Denver, Portugal, and lots of places in between. One of…
