40 Weeks Pregnant: Pregnancy Update and Birth Plan

    01/08/2019 /

Well friends, contrary to my prediction of an early delivery, I am just about 40 weeks pregnant, going on 1,000,000 weeks pregnant. I was SO SURE I’d go early. Unfortunately, my son doesn’t share my same sense of anxiousness and haste. This last month has been mentally, physically, and emotionally draining. However, it’s all worth it because sooner or later (pray for sooner), Pistachio will make his entrance into the world. So, for my final pregnancy blog, at least this time around, I’m giving you a bit of an idea as to what 40 weeks pregnant is like, how we’re doing, and my “birth plan.” So what’s the deal Christina?…

36 Weeks Pregnant: The Final Month of Pregnancy

    12/14/2018 /

Well friends, we are in the ninth inning of this pregnancy, and I’m looking forward to closing it out for the win. Seriously. I just surpassed my 36 weeks pregnant marker, and I’m now officially in my 37th week of pregnancy.   I can 100% verify that I am ready for things to get moving. To be fair, I’ve had a relatively easy pregnancy. Yes, there have been aches, pains, fatigue, nose bleeds, and swelling…but it could have been a lot worse. I dodged Gestational Diabetes, I only threw up a few times, and I’ve had a normal, healthy weight gain. Most importantly, Pistachio is looking like a healthy little cherub. It’s…

Prenatal Exercise & my 23 Week Pregnancy Update

    09/10/2018 /

We are just cruising along now friends! I’m in the middle of my 23rd week of pregnancy and overall, I’m feeling pretty good. I’m starting to adjust to my new exercise/work/commute schedule, my new house, and my science experiment of a body.  We have an ultrasound on Friday to make sure that Pistachio’s offset umbilical cord isn’t causing any complications, but when I asked the OB-GYN about this, she reassured me that it’s nothing to worry about. So, fingers crossed, all is well with little ‘Stash. If my belly size is any indication, his growth rate is just fine. Speaking of the above changes, I recently had quite a few…

18 Week Pregnancy Update: My Pregnancy Journey

    08/09/2018 /

Hi friends! I can’t believe I’m already sharing my 18 week pregnancy update. Pistachio is the size of a sweet potato, croissant, nintendo controller, or Sugar Glider (see below).  Now that I’m getting deeper into my second trimester, I can confidently say that most of my former and current preggo friends were right: It does. get. better. As I strut into this nineteenth week of pregnancy, I can safely say that my nausea has subsided and with that, friends, the hunger is real. Which is kind of strange because, simultaneously, I feel super full. Is that normal?   The plus side, I can actually consume vegetables and healthier foods again,…

My Pregnancy Blog: A Healthy Attempt at the First Trimester

    07/20/2018 /

If you read my previous First Trimester blog, then I don’t need to tell you again about how “not-so-pleasant” I felt during the first trimester of this first pregnancy. If you haven’t read any of the other blogs in this series, DO IT because I’m not going to re-hash it. That being said, as an Integrative Health Coach and well, a person that just likes to feel as though I’m nurturing my body, I tried to stay mindful of my feet, fork, and fingers. In other words, I still tried to eat as healthy as possible and move as much as I was physically able to. The latter was a heck…
