Wine on Purpose with Xtina

Drink wine? Give back? Count. Me. In.

You may have heard about OneHope wine through our OneHope X MoHope Virtual Tasting and Happy Hour, where we raised $2,000 for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. As a result of this successful partnership, I’ve decided to continue combining my desire to “do good” with my desire to “drink well” and become a Cause Entrepreneur with OneHope wine!

So, what does that mean?

That means, I can help you plan and execute a wine tasting, wine drive, or wine event for a cause you are passionate about through award-winning, Napa Valley wine. This also means, I am building my team of cause-driven #bosses who enjoy excellent wine, giving back, making some extra $$, and playing a role in fun events that bring people together, either virtually or in person.

Sound interesting? Great. But I’m sure you still have questions; I know I did when I first entertained this idea of being a “cause entrepreneur.” So I’ve outlined a few of below.

Wine-ing on Purpose Q&A

  1. What is OneHope Wine? What does it mean to be a “cause commerce” vineyard?

OneHope Vineyard is an organically-farmed, Napa Valley vineyard. The concept of OneHope wines centered on creating a brand that gave back. Many companies have followed this model; Toms, Patagonia, Love Your Melon, etc. However, there wasn’t a real player in the wine industry. Enter OneHope. Each bottle of OneHope wine gives back to a specific charity. Additionally, Cause Entrepreneurs like me, host wine events that give 10% back to any registered non-profit. Combining all of these mechanisms of giving back, in addition to more, OneHope has raised over $5 million dollars for charities across the globe. That number continues to grow because of the CE community and the people who continue to purchase OneHope wine. You can find out more about OneHope here.

2. What is a wine event?

There are so many ways to have a “wine event” including, virtual wine tastings, sponsored happy hours, and “wine drives” (basically allowing people to purchase the wine through a link to support your cause without an actual event).

Every “wine event” has a link through which guests can order their wine. This link typically stays live for up to three weeks past the event date (but can be closed at any time). As your CE, I’d work with you to figure out the best way to use OneHope to raise money for your charity of choice!

3. What does it mean to “host” an event?

As a “host” you get to pick which nonprofit you want OneHope to donate 10% of sales from your event to. Additionally, you qualify for discounts on wine purchased and various other incentives, like free wine!

When you host an event, you don’t have to lead the event. That’s what the Cause Entrepreneur is for; we’ll also help you organize your event and answer any questions you may have!

4. What is a Cause Entrepreneur?

A Cause Entrepreneur, as noted above, is basically “in the field” selling OneHope wine, conducting tastings and events, and being the voice behind the brand for OneHope. The difference is, a Cause Entrepreneur also works for herself or himself. Your income from OneHope is directly related to what you’re doing to build your brand in conjunction with OneHope and the team you’re creating to spread the mission of OneHope. That’s a lot of words.

When you sign up to be a CE with me, you’re a part of my team and I encourage you to continue to build. We work together on strategies to grow your business, from marketing and event planning to sales. Personally, my goal is to build a team of cause-focused bosses; meaning you don’t just want to make a sale or save money on wine; you’re committed to giving back to the community, the world, and causes that truly mean a lot to you. And…you should probably like wine. If you’re interested in becoming a CE, you can learn more (including income potential, how much it costs to start, etc,) here or you can reach out directly to me.

5. Do I have to purchase wine through an event? Or can I just order as I want?

You do NOT have to purchase wine through an event, though I’d encourage you to sign up for a preferred membership when you do purchase wine (it’s free) so that you can select a nonprofit of your choice to give back to. You can purchase wine at any time here.

There are also corporate gifting options and customizations available for different wine bottles. This is super popular with real estate agents, sales agents, and event planners looking to gift their clients. If this is something you’re interested in, please feel free to reach out directly to me.

6. Christina, this sounds like an MLM. Why are you doing it?

Well, yes. Yes it is. For those unfamiliar with MLM, it means “multi-level marketing.” What does that mean? It means that profits are generated through people selling products AND also building up their teams. Commissions are structured to encourage more team building as opposed to just direct sales. Typically, there’s a sign up fee associated with it and a fee that covers marketing/business related resources. This is nominal with OneHope. There are a LOT of companies that do this; and honestly, aside from the small pay-to-play, it’s very similar to how corporations are set up as well (as you gain more experience and enter leadership positions, you earn more).

Why am I doing it? Well, mainly because I saw how impactful it was for A Matter of Hope and the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. It is such a fun and easy way to raise money, fundraise, and earn some extra income. Also, wine is my personal preference when it comes to adult beverages. I have had no shame in having side business; especially one that gives back and allows me to help others plan fun events and build a personal income.

If you’d like to host an event or join my team of Cause Entrepreneurs, feel free to message me on Facebook, Instagram, or shoot me a text/email and we’ll chat! No pressure friends. Just wining on purpose.
